Phi Alpha Theta Faculty Advisor's Manual
Phi Alpha Theta is proud of its history as one of the strongest
college and university honor societies. We intend to build on that
foundation.
This manual serves to guide both novice and veteran advisors.
Its chief objective is to present general observations from experience
and specific directions for advisors. It should be of special value
to both recently appointed advisors and those who desire to build
and maintain strong chapters.
We are genuinely grateful for the contributions of our experienced
faculty advisors who have taken the time to share the tools they
used to strengthen their chapters.
Serving as a faculty advisor for Phi Alpha Theta is a rewarding
job! The key to being a successful advisor is planning, interest,
enthusiasm, and selecting well-qualified members. Use the ideas
in this manual to make your chapter a superior one.
We also emphasize that you should take your faculty advisor position
seriously. The organization offers many opportunities for our student
members, but if you do not inform and encourage them, they will
miss out.
We encourage you to share your experiences with your fellow advisors
and with National Headquarters.
